FRESH FOOD SECTION
SHELVES
Your refrigerator has the convenience of
shelves and storage compartments for a
variety of foods and snacks. Refrigerator
shelves can be easily adjusted to suit your
storage needs. Cantilever shelves are
supported at the back of the refrigerator. To
remove, lift the shelf up and out. Replace
shelf by inserting hooks at the rear into the
slots. Lower and lock into position.
CRISPER
Crisper is located under the bottom shelf,
and is used for storing fresh fruit and
vegetables. Vegetables should be washed
and drained before being placed into the
crisper. A variable humidity control,
available on some models, allows you to
adjust the storage environment in the
crisper.
CHILLED MEAT KEEPER (Some Models)
The meat keeper storage drawer has an
adjustable cold air feature. To obtain the
coldest temperature, slide the control to its
”coldest” position. Use this pan for short
term storage of bulk meat items. If meats
are to be kept longer than one or two days,
they should be frozen. (See Figure 6.)
WINE RACK (Some Models)
The wine rack stores bottles of wine, or
2-liter plastic bottles of juice or soda pop.
To install, slide the wine rack onto the shelf
with the curve facing in. To remove, slide
the wine rack out. Install on either side of a
Spillsafe
TM
shelf (See Figure 5a).
TALL BOTTLE RETAINER (Some Models)
See Figure 5b.

FROZEN FOOD SECTION
Maximum storage time can be attained by
use of plastic wrap to prevent drying of
foods. The coldest storage area is the main
freezer compartment. Door shelves are
intended for shorter term storage items
such as juices, pastries, and prepared foods.
Do not exceed the storage times specified
by the manufacturers of commercially
frozen and processed foods. Follow
package instructions.
Do not place effervescent drinks in the
frozen food storage section as bursting and
personal injury may result. Also for personal
safety, note that some products such as
water ices should not be consumed too
cold.
IN THE EVENT OF POWER FAILURE
Fresh Food Section - Keep door openings
to a minimum to prevent loss of cold air.
Normally, depending on the surrounding
temperature, foods will not deteriorate for
up to 12 hours.
Frozen Food Section - To prevent introduc-
tion of heat, do not open freezer door.
Normally, foods will not begin to thaw out
for up to 6 hours. Foods that have
thawed should not be refrozen. However,
if freshly thawed, foods may be immediately
cooked or processed for consumption.
When the refrigerator resumes operation,
carefully check for food deterioration and
discard any affected food.
Clean and dry interior surfaces.
