Note
The cooking zone appears incandescent until the heat level corresponding to the selected power is reached; when
the level is reached, an electronic device deactivates and activates the heating element to keep the temperature
constant. The heating element will be alternately incandescent or switched off.
Automatic switching off
After switching on, the control panel remains activated for 10 seconds; the hob switches off automatically if
no cooking zone is selected.
If a cooking zone is selected but without increasing the power, after 10 seconds the zone is automatically
deselected and the hob switches off after another 10 seconds.
Switching off the cooking zone
Activate the control zone with the selection button . By pressing the buttons and at the same time,
the power level of the zone will be brought to 0. Alternatively, the button can be used to decrease the
power level to 0. The outer circuit can be switched off separately from the inner circuit by pressing the button
, after reactivating the control zone by pressing the button .
Switching off both circuits at the same time
Both circuits can be immediately switched off at any time by means of the
ON/OFF button; an “H” appears if the cooking zone is still hot. The ON/OFF button is always active,
even if the control panel lock (child safety device) has been set.
Automatic preheating at maximum power function
It starts the cooking, exploiting the maximum power, and then
automatically reduces it to the required level.
When the automatic preheating function is activated, the power of
the cooking zone is at 100% for a given time that depends on the
power level selected (see table opposite, column AHT). At the end
of the heat-up time the cooking zone returns to the preset power
level.
To activate automatic heat-up, proceed as follows:
with the hob switched on, activate the control zone;
when power level 9 is reached, automatic heat-up is activated by
immediately pressing the button again, and the symbol “A”
appears on the display;
then select the power level required for cooking, using the
button and possibly the button . The display will show the
selected level;
after a few seconds the symbol “A” will appear on the display,
alternating with the selected power level. At the end of the
automatic heat-up stage (see table opposite) the display will only
show the preset power level;
to increase the preset power, press the button; in which case the automatic heat-up time will be
adapted to the selected setting;
This function can be stopped by pressing the button , a few seconds after the “A” appears on the display.
Residual heat indicator
After switching off the cooking zone, the corresponding display shows “H”, indicating that the glass surface is
still hot, until the temperature of the zone falls below the critical level (approx. 60°C). During this stage do
not clean or touch the cooking zones.
Automatic switching off function (operating time limit)
In relation to the power level, each cooking zone is switched off after a max. set time if no operation is carried
out (see the table above, column OTL).
Every operation on the cooking zone by means of the buttons and resets the maximum operating time
of the zone to its max. value.
Automatic protection of the cooking zones and electronic circuit
The hob has several systems that protect against possible overheating which could damage the electronic
components. If the cooking zone is switched on without placing a pot on it, the power is automatically
reduced to minimum. If the cooking zone is used at high power for a long time, the hob automatically
switches off and error code E2 appears (see the section “Support”). Therefore prolonged use at high power
is inadvisable.
