Therangemust be completelycoolin orderto set the
self-cleancycle.
Step 1: Removethe broilerpan,broilerrack,all
cookwareandany ahnninu~ foilfromtheoven—they
cannotwithstandthehighcleaningtemperatures.
@ven shelvesmaybe leftin oven.NOTE: Shelves
willdiscolorafterthe self-cleancycle.)
Step 2: Wipeup heavysoilon the ovenbottom.

Step 3: Cleanspattersor spillson ovenfrontframe(A)
andovendooroutsidegasket(B)witha dampened
cloth.Polishwitha dry cloth.Donotcleangasket(B).
Neverusea commercialovencleanerin or around
self-cleaningoven.
Step 4: Closethedoorand makesurethe ovenlight
(C) is off.
Oven shelvesmay be cleanedin the self-cleaning
oven.However,they willdarken,losetheir lusterand
becomehardto slide.Wipethe shelfsupportswith
cookingoil after self-cleaningto makeshelvesslide
moreeasily.
Caution: Chromedrip pansshouldneverbe cleaned
in the self-cleaningoven.
Do not use
commercial oven cleaners or oven
protectors in or near the self-cleaning oven.
A
combinationof any of theseproductsplus thehigh
cleancycletemperaturesmay damagethe porcelain
finishof the oven.
Important
me ovendoormustbe closedand latched~d dl
controlsmustbe setcorrectlyfor thecleancycleto
work properly.
How tosetovenforckming
Step 1: Followstepsaboveto preparethe oven
for cleaning.
Step 2: Closetheoven

Step 3: PressCLEANpad.
Step 4: PressINCREASEor DECREASEpad until
desiredCleanTimeis displayed.
CleanTimeis normally3 hours.Youcan changethe
CleanTimeto anywherebetween2 and4 hours,
dependingon how dirtythe ovenis.
The self-cleancyclewill automaticallybeginwithina
few secondsand the word “ON”will appearon the
display.Whenthe ovenlocksthe word“LOCKy’will

be displayedand,a shorttime later,the doorlatch
handlewillbe lockedin position,It willnot be
possibleto open the ovendoor untilthe temperature
dropsbelowthe lock temperature.
Step 5: Whenthe LOCKlightis off,slidelatchhandle
to theleft asfar as it willgo andopenthedoor.
Never
forcethelatchhandle.Wait.untiltheword
“LOCK” goes
outinthe display.Forcing the kwd-1
handle may dfunagethe doorlock.
Aftera cleancycle,youmay noticesomewhiteashin
theoven.Justwipeit up with a dampcloth.
If whitespotsremain,removethemwitha soap-filled
steelwoolpad.Be sureto rinsethoroughlywitha
vinegarandwatermixture,Thesedepositsareusuallya
saltresiduethatcannotbe removedby thecleancycle.
If the ovenis notcleanafteronecleancycle,thecycle
maybe i.epeated.
