Thetemperaturecontrolinyour
newovenhasbeencarefullyadjusted
{oprovideaccuratetemperatures.
However,ifthisovenhasreplaced
oneyouhaveusedforseveralyears,
youmaynoticea differenceinthe
degreeofbrowningor the lengthof
timerequiredwhenusingyour
favoriterecipesbecauseoven
temperaturecontrolshaveatendency
to “drift” overa periodofyears.
Beforeattemptingtohavethe
temperatureofyournewoven
changed,be sureyouhavefollowed
thebakingtimeandtemperatureof
therecipecarefully.Then,after
youhaveusedtheovena fewtimes
andyoufeeltheovenistoohot
or toocool, thereisa simple
adjustmentyoucan makeyourself
on theOVENTEMPknob.
Pulltheknoboffthe shaftandlook
atthe backside.Thereis a discin
thecenteroftheknobskirtwitha
seriesofmarksoppositea pointer.

pointing.Tomakean ad~ustment,
carefullyloosen(approximately
oneturn), butdo notcompletely
re~.ovethetwoscrewsthatholdthe
skirtto the knob.Holdthe knob
bladein onehandandthe outer
skirt inthe otherhand.
Toraisetheoventemperature,
movethepointerin thedirectionof
thearrow forRAISE.Tolowerthe
temperature,movethepointerin
_ thedirectionof arrowfor LOWER.
Eachmark willchangetheoven
temperatureapproximately20”F.
Wesuggestthatyoumakethe
adjustmentonemark fromthe
originalsettingandcheckoven
performancebeforemakingany
additionaladjustments.
Afiertheadjustmentis made,
pressskirtandknobtogetherand
retightenscrewssotheyaresnug,
butbecarefulnotto overtighten.
Re-installknobon rangeand
checkperformance.
Note:Afteran adjustmenthas
beenmadetothe OVENTEMP
knob,OFF andBROILwillnot
lineup withthe indicatormarkon
thecontrolpanelas theypreviously
did. Thisconditionis normaland
willnotcreatea problem.
SurfaceBurner
AirAdjustmentShutters
An air adjustmentshutterforeach
surfaceburnerregulatestheflowof
air to theflame.
Whenthe rightamountofair
flowsintotheburner,the flame
willbe steady,relativelyquietand
haveapproximately3/4”sharpblue
cones.Thisis usuallythecasewith
factorypresetshuttersettings.
Withtoomuchair,theflamewill
be unsteady,possiblywon’tburn all
the wayaround,and willbe noisy,
soundinglikea blowtorch.
Withnotenoughair,youwon’tsee
anysharpblueconesin theflame,
youmayseeyellowtips,and soot
mayaccumulateonpotsandpans.

thehoodofthe valves,andare
positionedon theburnertubesby
frictionfit.
Toadjustthe flowof irto the

bur~ers,applya bladetype
screwdriveragainstthefriction-fit
shuttersand pushto adjustthe
shutters,allowingmoreor lessair
intotheburnertubesas needed.

Toadjustthe flowof airto the
burner,loosenthePhillipshead
screwandrotatetheshutterto
allowmoreor lessair intothe
burnertubeasneeded.
Todetermineif theburnerflame
is proper,lighttheburner.The
flameshouldhave1/2”to 3/4”blue
coneswithno yellowtipping,and
shouldnotextendoutoverthe
baffleedges.
