3. Cleanspattersor soilon theovenfrontframeand
theovendooroutsidethegasketwitha dampened
cloth,Theovenfrontframeandthe ovendoor
outsidethegasketdo notgetcleanedby theself-
cleancycle.On theseareas,usedetergentandhot
wateror a soap-filledsteelwoolpad.Rinsewell
witha vinegarandwatersolution.Thiswillhelp
preventa brownresiduefromformingwhenthe
ovenis heated.Bufftheseareaswitha dry cloth.
Do notcleanthegasket.
Cleanthe top,sidesandoutsidefrontof theoven
doorwithsoapandwater.Alsouse soapandwater
to cleanunderthe ovenventgrille.Donot use
abrasives or oven cleaners.
Makesuretheovenlightbulbcoveris in place.
Do not rub or clean the door gasket—
thefiberglassmaterialof thegaskethasan
extremelylowresistanceto abrasion.An intact
andwell-fittingovendoorgasketisessentialfor
energy-efficientovenoperationandgoodbaking
results.If younoticethegasketbecomingworn,
frayedor damagedin anywayor if it hasbecome
displacedon thedoor,youshouldhaveit replaced.
Do not let water run downthrough openingsin
the top of the door.Tohelppreventwaterfrom
gettingin theseslotswhencleaning,openthedoor
as far as it will go.
4. Closetheovendoorandmakesuretheoven
lightis off. If the ovenlightis notturnedoff,
thelifeof thebulbwillbe shortenedor itmay
bumoutimmediately.Thedoorlatches
automaticallyafterthecleancycleis set.
Do not use commercialovencleaners or oven
protectors in or near the self-cleaningoven.
A combinationofanyof theseproductsplusthe
highclean-cycletemperaturemaydamagethe
porcelainfinishoftheoven.
