tipped tongs, forks or knives; these can damage the
nonstick surface.
6. Close lid. Set timer by pressing timer up (+)
button until desired time appears on digital
display. Timer can be set to a maximum of 199
minutes (D).
Note: Use suggested cooking times found in
COOKING CHART on page 7.
7. Timer can be adjusted at any time during cooking
by pressing “+” or “-” buttons.
8. Allow food to cook for desired time.
Caution: Do not leave appliance unattended during use.
9. During cooking, digital display will show countdown from initial set time. At
end of cooking time, there will be an audible signal. Display will alternately
flash “00” and “ON” as a reminder that the power is on. Power ON indicator
will remain on until power ON/OFF button
( )
is pressed.
10. There will be an audible signal every 5 minutes until Grill & Roast
is turned
off.
11. At end of preset time, food should be cooked. Check for doneness by using a
meat thermometer (see COOKING CHART on page 7). If necessary, reset timer
for additional time and check periodically to avoid overcooking.
12. Using a potholder, carefully raise lid to allow steam to escape at the sides
before fully opening.
13. When cooking is complete, press power ON/OFF button
( )
and unplug.
Important: Heat continues to be ON until power ON/OFF button
( )
is pressed or
appliance is unplugged.
14. Using tongs with nylon heat-resistant tips or wooden spoons, carefully
remove food from Grill & Roast™.
15. Allow drip tray to cool before removing from under roaster. Wash and dry drip
tray after each use.
16. Thoroughly clean interior of roaster after each use, following directions in
CARE AND CLEANING.
USING THE BAKE PAN
Note: Use bake pan for foods containing liquids and for baked goods.
1. Fill baking pan about half full and insert into Grill
& Roast
(E).
Caution: Do not overfill bake pan. Always fill
half full.
2. Follow steps 2 – 13 in COOKING.
3. Bake according to package directions. Test
for doneness. If necessary, reset timer for
additional time and check periodically to avoid
overcooking.
4. When finished baking, use pot holders to remove pan to wire rack.
Note: Do not place bake pan directly on counter or table top. Use a trivet or
heat-resistant table cover.
5. Press power ON/OFF
( )
button and unplug appliance.
BAKE PAN TIPS
Packaged Brownie mix: bake for 25 minutes or until tests done.
Packaged Cornbread mix: bake 20 minutes or until tests done.
Great for baking a frittata or strata: follow recipe indications.
Chicken or fish in cream sauce: bake for 25 minutes or until tests done.
Beef with vegetables in gravy: brown onions in bake pan by cooking in 1 tsp.
oil or butter for 5 minutes. Add beef, vegetables and sauce and cook until meat
and vegetables are tender.
