To light the burners, pushin and
turn the OVEN TEMP knobto the
desired temperature. The burner
shouldignitewithin 60 seconds.

POWERFAILURE. Resumption
of electrical power when OVEN
TEMP and OVEN SET controls
are in any position other than OFF
will result in automatic ignitionof
the ovenor broiler burner and
could cause severe burnsif, at the
time, you were attemptingto light
the burner with a match.
A burner in use when an electrical
power failure occurs will continue
to operate normally.
Before using Your oven
Be sure you understand how to set
the controls properly. Practice
removingand replacing the shelves
while the oven is cool. Read the
information on the followingpages,
and keep this book handy.
Oven controls
The controls for your oven
are marked OVEN SET and OVEN
TEMP.
BA~—Use thissettingfor ali
normalovenoperations—for
example,for cookingroastsor
casseroles. Onlythebottomoven
burner operatesduring baking.
BROI&Use thissettingfor
broiling.Only the top (broil)
burner will operate.
TWD BA-Use this setting
to turn the ovenon and off at
specifiedtimes when youwant
cookingto start and stop.See
AutomaticOvenTimer on next
page.
CLE~—Use this settingfor the
self-cleaningfunctionody.
0~—Shuts offpowerto the oven
controls. Oven will not operate.
The OVEN SET and OVEN TEMP
controls should be turned to OFF
wheneverthe ovenis not in use.
The O~N TEW control
maintainsthe temperature you set
for normal ovenoperation as well
as for broiling.
For normal oven operation, push
in and turn the knob to the desired
temperature which is marked in 25°
increments. It will normally take
30 to 60 seconds before the flame
comes on.
After the oven reaches the selected
temperature, the ovenburner cycles
—offcompletely, then on with a
full flame-to keep the oven
temperature controlled.

Light on upper control panel glows
when oven is in operation; it goes
out when the OVEN SET knob is
turned to OFF.

The shelvesarc designedwith
stop-locksso whenplacedcorrectly
on the shelf supports,theywill stop
beforecoming completelyoutof
the ovenand will nottilt when you
are removingfoodfrom themor
placingfood on them.
When placing cbokwareon a shelf,
pt~llthe shelf outto the “stop”
position. Place thecookwareon
the shelf, then slidethe shelfback
intothe oven. This will eliminate
reaching into thehot oven.

up on front and pullout.

oven vent
Yourovenis ventedthrough ducts
at the rear of the range (seepage 6).
Do not block theseducts when
cooking in the oven—itis important
that the flow ofhot air from the
ovenand fresh air to the oven
burners be uninterrupted.

surfaces may become hot. Do not
touch them.

eooktop may become hot if Reft
too Closeto the vent.
