rareinstances,poachedeggshavebeenknowntoexplode.Coverpoached
eggs and allowa standingtime of one minutebefore cutting into them.
6. Foodswith unbrokenouter "skin" suchas potatoes, sausages,tomatoes,
apples, chicken livers and other giblets, and egg yolks (see previous
caution) should be pierced to allow steam to escape during cooking.
"Boilable"cooking pouchesand tightly closed plasticbags should be slit,
pierced,or vented,
