PLACING THE CIRCUIT BREAKER IN THE
CELL
Hazard of fire, explosion,
severe injury, death and
property damage. Circuit
breaker must be OFF
before installation or
removal from cell.
Circuit breaker contains
powerful springs.
Discharge springs
completely before
installation or servicing.
Before attempting to install the circuit breaker in
the cell, verify that the continuous current,
voltage and interrupting ratings are correct for
the power system.
Open the B9 grease provided and apply a
coating to the ends of the six (6) primary stab
fingers (Fig. 17).
A portable lifter should be used for the insertion
or removal of the circuit breaker if the
compartment is above floor level. Place the
breaker on the lifter and bring it to the same
level as the cell. Align the hole on the lifter tab
with the welded nut on the cell base and
remove the holding pin from the right hand side
of the cell base. (Fig. 18).
