nRECORD/OTR Record and OTRThis records the TV channel
that you have selected at that moment.
mSTANDBY Switch off Thisswitches off the machine. If
you press mSTANDBY itwill automatically
cancel any menu function you have chosen
and will stop a TIMER-recording.
P ; Channel and menu button Thischanges to the
next numbered TV channel (for example,
2 to 3). It also movesthe cursor up if you have
the menu on screen.
P = Channel and menu button Thischanges to the
previous numbered TV channel (forexample,
3 to 2). It also movesthe cursor down if you
have the menu on screen.
Q Menu button This moves thecursor left.
P Menu button This moves thecursor right.
MENU Menu button This calls upthe main menu or
cancels the menu.
OK Store and confirm Thisstores or confirms any
programme you have entered.
CLEAR (CL) Delete This deletes the lastprogramme you
have entered or clears the TIMER.

1. push the dents and
2. slide down the cover
TIMER k TIMER This setsthe TIMER or changes or cancels aprogrammed TIMER
SELECT Select This activates themenu function you have chosen.
0-9 Digit buttons These are the buttons you use to selectchannels and programme
the machine.
H Rewind If you have pressed STOP or STANDBY,this rewinds thecassette.
If you have pressed PLAY, thisscans the picture in reverse.
PLAY G Playback This plays a recordedcassette.
I Forward wind If you have pressed STOP orSTANDBY, this windsthe cassette
on. If you have pressed PLAY,this scans the picture forward.
INDEX E Index searchIf you use this button with H or I , it searches for the
previous or next recording on thetape.
STILL/JOG ONR Still picture andJOG on This stops the tape andshows the picture at that
moment as a still picture.It can also switch onthe ’JOG’ function.
o SHUTTLE Ifyou are holding the picture onSTILL, the outer dial allows youto
select the speed at which thepicture will move on.
$ JOG Ifyou are holding the picture on STILL,the inner dial allows you to move
the picture on slowly.
STOP h Pause and stop This stops the tape, except duringTIMER recording.
SMART SMART This adjusts thepicture while you are playing acassette.
COUNTER Counter This showshow much of the tape you have played.
MONITOR TVmonitor This switches between the picture onTV and on your cassette.

Sp TV volume This increases and reduces the volume.
TV m Switch off This switchesoff the TV.
TV y TVsound off This switches off the soundcompletely.
P p TV programme This changesthe programme number up and down.
