Always use salt intended for use with dishwashers.
The salt container is located beneath the lower rack and should be filled as follows:
Remove the lower basket and then unscrew and removethe cap from the salt
container.
Ifyou are fillingthe containerfor the first time ,fill 2/3 ofits volumewith water.
Placethe end of thefunnel(supplied) intothe hole andintroduceabout 2kgof
salt .It is normal for asmall amount of water to come out of the salt container
Carefully screw the cap back on.

Unscrewthe cap from the salt container.
Thereis a ringon the container with an arrow on it (see Figure to theside), if
necessary, rotate the ring in the anticlockwise direction from the "-" Setting
toward the "+" sign, based on thehardness of the waterbeingused.It is
recommendedthatadjustments should bemade in accordance with the following

Thesalt container mustbe refilled when the salt warninglight comes on. Though thesalt containeris filled
enough, theindicatorlightmaynot black outbefore thesaltfullydissolve.
Iftherearespillsof the salt,a soak program couldbe run towipethem out.
Contact your local water board for information on the hardnessof your water supply.
Thehardness of the water variesfromplace toplace. If hard water is used in the dishwasher, deposits will form on thedishes
andutensils.

There are two ways to reduce the hardness: one way is using water softener, the other is using
detergent.
