Installation
WARNING - TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE,
ELECTRIC SHOCK, OR INJURYTO PERSONS,
OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:
a.) Installationwork and electrical wiring mustbe
doneby qualified person(s) in accordance with
allapplicablecodesandstandards,including
fire-rated construction.
b.) Sufficientairisneededfor propercombustion
endexhausting of gases through the flue
(chimney)offuelburning equipment to prevent
backdrafting. Followtheheatingequipment
manufacturer’s guideline and safety standards
suchasthosepublishedby the National Fire
ProtectionAssociation(NFPA),andthe
AmericanSocietyfor Heating,Refrigeration
andAirConditioning(ASHRAE),andthelocal
codeauthorities.
c.) When cutting or drillingintowall or ceiling, do
notdamageelectricalwiringandotherhidden
utilities.
d.) Ductedfans must alwaysbeventedto the
outdoors.
e.) NEVER place a switch whereitcanbereached
fromatuborshower.

WARNING:
The applicable regulations of the energy supply
companies and the regional construction
regulations must be observed when installing the
hood.
Minimum distance between electric cooktop and
bottomedgeofhood:181/2”(47cm)
Minimum distance on gas cooktopsbetween the
upper edge of the grate and loweredgeofthe
hood: 26” (65 cm)
Connection possibilities
Thewall hood was conceivedfor the exhaust air or
air recirculation mode. Theexhaust air canbe
routedintoaseparateexhaustairshaft or directly
intotheopenthroughtheoutsidewall.
Itisnotallowedto pass the exhaust air intoaflue
orexhaust air chimneythatisinoperation or intoa
shaft that is linkedtotheheatingbasement.
Consultthechimneysweepresponsible for your
districtwhenever you wish to passtheexhaust air
intoachimneythatisnotinoperation.
During the course of planning, achimneysweep
mustbeconsultedifaroomair-dependenthearth
isoperatedinthesameroomastheoneinwhicha
hoodisoperatedintheexhaustairmode.Adequate
incomingairmustbeensured.Theapplicable
constructionandsafety regulationsmustbe
observed.
Adequateincomingairmustbeensured if a wood,
coal,gasoroilheateroranopenhearth isoperated
inthesameroom as the one inwhichthehoodis
installed.
Safeoperation is possible whenever the partial
vacuum in the place where the firing equipment
isinstalleddoesnotexceed4Pa(0.04mbar).
Thiscanbeachievedwhenevertheairneededfor
combustionisableto enterthroughopeningsthat
cannotbesealed,for exampleindoors,windows,
incoming/exhaustairwallboxesorothertechnical
means.
Grounding Instructions
Theappliance mustbegrounded. Intheevent of an
electricalshort circuit,groundingreduces the risk
ofelectricshockby providing an escape wirefor
theelectriccurrent.Thisapplianceisequippedwith
acordhaving a groundingwirewithagrounding
plug.Theplugmustbepluggedinto an outletthatis
properlyinstalledandgrounded.
WARNING IMPROPER GROUNDING CAN
RESULTINARISKOFELECTRICSHOCK.
Consultaqualifiedelectricianifthe
groundinginstructionsarenot completely
understood,orifdoubtexistsasto whetherthe
applianceisproperlygrounded.
Donotuseanextension cord. If the power supply
cordistooshort, have a qualified electrician install
anoutletneartheappliance.
