Roastingis cookingbydry heat.Tendermeator

Roastingtemperatures,whichshouldbe lowand
BAKE.(Youmayhear a slightclickingsound,
steady,keep spatteringto a minimum.Whenroasting,

Step 1: Checkweightof meat,andplace,fat sideup,

Step 2: Placein
ovenon shelfin
A or B position.
No preheatingis
necessary.
Step 3: PressBAKEpad.
Step 4: PressINCREASEpad.The
ovensettemperatureappearsin
thedisplay.
Step 5: PressINCREASEor DECREASEpad until
desiredtemperatureis displayed.
The word“ON”and the changingoventemperature
willbe displayedas the ovenheatsup. Whenthe oven
reachestheset temperatureatone will sound.
TochangeoventemperatureduringBAKEcycle,
pressBAKEpad andthen INCREASEor
DECREASEpad to get newtemperature.
Step6:Pressthe CLEAR/OFFpad
CLEAR
whenbakingis finishedandthen
removefoodfromoven.
Step 7: Mostmeatscontinueto cookslightlywhile
standing,afterbeingremovedfromthe oven.
Standingtimerecommendedfor roastsis 10to 20
minutes.This allowsroaststo firm up andmakes
themeasierto carve.Internaltemperaturewillrise
about5°to 10°F.;to compensatefor temperature
increase,if desired,removethe roastfrom oven
sooner(atto 10°F.less thantemperaturein the
RoastingGuide).
NOTE: Youmaywish to TIMEBAKE,as described
in theBakingsectionof thisbook,to turn ovenon and
off automatically.
Rememberthat foodwill continueto cookin thehot
ovenand thereforeshouldberemovedwhenthe
desiredinternaltemperaturehas beenreached.
For’FrozenRoa$ts
~Frozenroastsof beef,pork,lamb,etc.,canbe.started
withoutthawing,but allow 10to 25 minutesper
poundadditionaltime (10minutesper poundfor
roastsunder5 pounds,moretimefor largerroasts).
~Thawmost frozenpoultrybeforeroastingto ensure
even doneness.Somecommercialfrozenpoultrycan
be cookedsuccessfullywithoutthawing.Follow
directionsgivenon packagelabel.
