To achieve optimum cooking performance, use heavy gauge, flat, smooth bottom
cookpetsthatconformtothediameterofthecookingarea. Propercookpotswillminimize
cookingtimes,use lesselectricity,cookfood moreevenlyand requireless water oreil.
Cookpotswith thin, unevenbottoms do not adequatelyconduct heatfrom thecooking
areato the foodin the cookpotswhich results in hot spots,burned or underdonefood.
Imprepercookpotsrequiremorewater, time andenergy tocook food.
Selectheavygauge¢ookpots. Mostheavygaugecookpotswill notchangeshape
whenheated.
Use ¢ookpots with flat, smooth bottoms. Thetwoways todetermineifcookpets
havea flat, smooth bottomare the ruler test and thecooking test.
Ruler Test:
1.Placethe edge of a ruleracross the bottom ofthe pot.
2.Hold upto the light.
3.No lightshould be visible underthe ruler.

2.Place cookpoton the coeking area. Turn
control tothe Hi setting.
3.Observethe bubbleformationto determine
the heatdistribution.If the bubblesare uni-
form across the cookpot, the cookpot will
performsatisfactorily.Ifthe bubblesarenot
uniform,the bubbles will indicate the hot
spots.
Matchthesizeofthecookpottothesizeoftheelement. Ideally,thecookpotwill
be thesame sizeor slightly larger.
