• Aslightodormaybe detected,and ifan oven isheavilysoiled,somesmokemay
be visible. Some smoke and odor during the cleaning process is a normal
occurrence. Sincethe ovenvent is at the bottomof the controlpanel, vapors,
moisture,etc. may be seen comingfrom this area.
• Dudngthe cleaningprocess,do not be alarmed if an occasionalflame is visible
throughthe oven window. This is caused by excessive food sol)that was not
removedbeforethe oven was setto clean.
• SINCE THE DOOR AND WINDOW OF THE OVEN WILL GET WARM DURING
THE SELF-CLEANING PROCESS, AVOID CONTACT.
• Sometypes ofsoilmaydisintegratebutleave a lightfilmorheavierdepositofash.
The amountofashdependsonthe amount of soilwhichwas intheoven. Afteroven
hascooled,thisash may be removedwitha dampsponge. If otherdarkdeposits
remainafter wipingwitha sponge,thetime set forthe length ofcleaningwas not
enough. Increasethe cleaningtimefor futurecleaningsor clean morefrequently.
The normalcleaningtimeis 3 hours. A maximumof 4 hoursmay be selected if
necessary.
• If rackshavebeenleft inovenduringthecleaningprocess,they shouldbetreated
asfollows. Afterthecleaningprocessiscompletedand theovenhas cooled,buff
theundersideofrackedgeswithSootch-Britescour-pador rub/ight/ythe underside
of rackedgeswith a coatingof vegetable oil. Use a lightapplicationof oilso itdoes
notsoilthe oven. This will makethe cleaned recksslidemore easily.
• To removeoccasionalspilloversbetweencteanings,use a soap-filledscouringpad
or mildcleanser;rinsewell.
• It is betterto cleanthe ovenregularlyratherthan wait untilthere isa heavy build-
up of soilin the oven.
• Dudngthe cleaningprocess,the kitchenshouldbe well ventilatedto helpeliminate
normalodorsassociatedwith cleaning.
• DO NOT USE COMMERCIAL OVEN CLEANERS.
• DO NOT USE ALUMINUM FOIL OR OTHER LINERS IN THE OVEN.
