Safety Instructions and Warnings
• Theicemakerisdesignedexclusivelytomake
icecubesinquantitiesneededbyahousehold
andmayonlybeoperatedwithwaterappropri-
ateforthispurpose.
• Allrepairsandworkontheicemakermayonly
bedonebycustomerservicepersonnelorother
appropriatelytrainedpersonnel.
• Do not consume or use the first three
batches of ice. This applies both to using the
appliance for the first time and also using it
after it has not been used for a long period of
time.
• The manufacturer cannot accept liability for
damagecausedbyequipmentorwaterlines
between the solenoid valve and the water
supply.
• Theicemakerwillonlyworkifthecombined
refrigerator-freezerisconnectedtotheelectrical
outlet.Itwillonlymakeicecubesifthefreezer
compartmentisoperating.
• Theicemakerisinthetopleftdrawerinthe
freezercompartmentofthecombinedrefrig-
erator-freezer(Figure 5).Theicemakercan
onlymakeicecubesifthedraweriscompletely
closed.
To Start the Ice Maker
To turn the ice maker on
• Pulloutthedrawer.
• Pressthe“ON/OFF”buttonsothecontrollamp
comeson(Figure 23).
• Closethedrawer.
Afteryoustarttheicemakerforthefirsttimeitmay
takeupto24hoursbeforethefirsticecubesare
ready.
Note
The first three batches of ice must not be con-
sumed or used.
Theproductioncapacityis90-100icecubesin
24hoursatatemperatureof0°Finsidethefreezer
compartment.
Tohavethemaximumcapacityofapprox.140ice
cubesin24hours,activatetheSuperFrostfunction.
Be aware that this increases the energy con-
sumption because the compressor will run con-
stantly.
Theicecubesfalloutoftheicemakerintothe
drawer.Whentheicereachesacertainlevelinthe
drawer,theappliancestopsproducingiceautomati-
cally.Theicemakerwillnotfillthedrawertothe
top.
Ifyouneedalargequantityoficeyoucanchange
outthedrawertotherightwiththecomplete
IceMakerdrawer.
To turn the ice maker off
Ifyoudonotneedanyicecubes,theicemaker
canbeturnedoffindependentlyofthefreezercom-
partment.
• Pressthe“ON/OFF”buttonforapproximately
1secondsothecontrollampgoesout.
Note
If the ice maker is turned off, the empty draw-
er can also be used to freeze and store food.

IMPORTANT
To ensure a proper function of the Ice Maker
the water pipe system must be purged of any
air.
• Pulloutthedrawer.
• Pressthe“ON/OFF”buttonsothecontrollamp
comeson(Figure 23).
• PressthebuttonontheIceMakerhousing
(Figure 23)forapprox.3seconds.TheLED
abovethebuttonstartsblinking.
• Pressthebuttonagainbriefly.TheLEDblinks
faster.
• Closethedrawerimmediately.
Thewaterintakeoftheapplianceopensfor25
secondsandbleedsallairfromthepipesystem.
• AfterthistheIceMakertray(Figure 24)must
beemptied.Refertochapter“IceMakerat
vacations”.
• Finallycleanthedrawer.
