TO TURN OFF GAS TO HEATER
1. TurnON/OFFswitchtoOFFposition.
 2. Turncontrolknobclockwise toOFFpositiontocompletelyshutofftheheater.
3. Ifapplicable:Turnoffallelectricpowertotheheater.

1. STOP!Readthesafetyinformationlabel.
2. Makesurethemanualshutoffvalveisfullyopen.
3. Thisgaslogsetisequippedwithanignitiondevice(piezo)whichautomaticallylightsthepilot.Ifpiezo
ignitordoesnotlightthepilot,refertoinstructionsforMatch Lighting Instructions, page 23.
4. Turngascontrolknobclockwise totheOFFposition,turnON/OFFswitchtoOFFposition.
5. Wait(5)minutestoclearoutanygas.Thensmellforgas,includingneartheoor.Ifyousmellgas,STOP!
FollowtheinstructionsunderWhat To Do If You Smell Gas, page 21.
6. From OFFposition, turnthe gascontrol knob counterclockwise to IGN position. Push in
controlknobfor5seconds.NOTE: If you are running the heater for the first time, it may be
necessary to press in the control knob for 30 seconds or longer to allow air to bleed out
of the gas piping.
7. Withthecontrolknobpushedin,pushinandreleasethepiezoignitorbuttontolightthepilot.
8. Continuepushingthecontrolknobinforafurther10secondstopreventtheamedetectorfromshutting
offthegaswhiletheprobeiswarmingup.Releasethecontrolknob.
9. Turngascontrolknobcounterclockwise totheONposition.
10. Afterthepilothasbeenlitforoneminute,theburnerscanbeturnedon.TurntheON/OFFswitchtoON
position.
11. Ifthegaslogswillnotoperate,followtheinstructions“ToTurnOffGasToHeater”belowandcallyour
servicetechnicianorgassupplier.
