Using your freezer
Setting the cold control.. .
Adjus ting cold control.. .
To Start, turn control to the middle of the dial.

Turn ‘::ontrol to higher number for colder
This setting is designed to maintain temperature
tempt hratures.
at or near 0 F [ 17.8 C) under normal operating
conditions.

Turn tc lower number for less cold temperatures.

Coolilrlg freezer first.. .

Allow freezer to cool 6 to 8 hours before filling
with frmazen food.

Note: W,ien freezer is first started the compressor
will run constantly until the cabinet is cooled. It
may tab e up to 6 to 8 hours or longer, depending
on roonj temperature and the number of times
the free. er door is opened.
After t le cabinet is cooled the compressor will
turn on clnd off as needed to keep freezer at
proper iemperature.
Temperature Alarm
The Temperalure Alarm (located on the right
side of the base grille) works together with an
electronic Temperature Sensor (located inside
the freezer - sensing freezer air temperature) to
alert the user to an abnormal condition which
has caused freezer air temperature to rise to a
level which may be unsafe for frozen food stor-
age. It is designed to sound a continuous tone if
the freezer becomes warm.

. The door has been opened too many times, or
has been left open too long.

The Cold Control is not set correctly.

A large food load has been added.

The freezer IS disconnected.
. There has been a power failure, or a circuit-
breaker is tripped or a fuse blown.
Wher the Temperature
Alarm iwitch in ON, the
Temper lture Sensor in the
freezer senses freezer air
ON
temper lture. If the temperature becomes too
warm, t?e Temperature Alarm is designed to
sound c continuous tone.
You w II hear a different sound if the battery is
about tc’wear out.The alarm is designed to beep
(chirp) c>very 30 to 60 seconds to indicate a fail-
ing batery.

Make jure you know why the freezer became
tooworr~i.lftheproblemisserious(powerfailure)
and ser .,ice or assistance is needed, see page
11. If the problem is simple (door open, freezer
unplug<;ed) correct it. Move the switch back to
ON whe ‘1 the freezer is cold again.
The b:?eping that indicates a failing battery
cannot :)e stopped by moving the Temperature
Alarm Stiitch to OFF. It can be stopped only by
removir g the battery Replace immediately with
a 9-volt alkaline battery.
Checl the battery often
by moving the Tempera-
ture Alclrm Switch to the
