Gas fuels and their use in
appliances can cause
minor
exposures
to benzene,
formaldehyde, carbon monoxide
and soot, primarily from
incomplete combustion.
Significant exposure to these
substances can cause cancer or
reproductive harm. Properly
adjusted burners with a blue,
rather than a yellow flame, will
minimize incomplete
combustion. Venting with a
hood or an open window will
further minimize exposure.
When You Get Your Range

Have the installer show you
the location of the range gas
cut-off valve and how to shut
it off if necessary.
l
Have your range installed
and properly grounded by a
qualified installer, in
accordance with the Installation
Instructions. Any adjustment
and service should be performed
only by qualified gas range
installers or service technicians.
