INSTALLATIONINSTALLATION
Use an approved
gas pipe sealant at
allexternalthreaded
connections, gas
piping used on gas
connections must
avoid sharp bends
that may restrict the
owofgastothe
appliance. If the
connected pressure
exceeds14.0"W.C.(3.5kPa)forpropaneand11.0"W.C.
(2.74kPA)fornaturalgas,astep-downregulatoris
required to be supplied by the owner/operator.
Close the individual manual shut-off valve to isolate
the fryer from the gas supply piping system during any
pressure testing at test pressures equal to or less than 1/2
psig.(3.4kPa).Thefryerandindividualshut-offvalve
must be disconnected from the gas supply piping system
duringanypressuretestingatpressuresinexcessof1/2
psig.(3,4kPa).
In the U.S.A., installation must conform to local codes
or, in the absence of local codes, with the current edition
of the National Fuel Gas Code,NFPA-54andANSI
Z83.11aCSA1.8a2004(orlatestedition).InCanada,
installation must be in accordance with local codes,
CAN/CGA-B149.1,Installation for Natural Gas Burning
Appliances and Equipment (latest edition) or CAN/CGA-
B149.2Installation for Propane Burning Appliances and
Equipment (latest edition).
The inlet supply line must be properly sized to
accommodate all individual appliances simultaneously
used on the same line but must never be smaller than
3/4" I.D.
LEAK TESTING
Installation requires gas leak testing on all gas piping and
ttings.Useanapprovedelectronicleakdeviceorasoap
and water solution at all gas connections. If bubbling
appears when using a soap and water solution, the
connectionmustberetted.Neveruseanopenameto
leak test.
