At Breville we are very safety conscious. We design and manufacture consumer products
with the safety of you, our valued customer, foremost in mind. In addition we ask that you
exercise a degree of care when using any electrical appliance and adhere to the following
precautions.
• Carefully read all instructions before operating the
BrevillePowerBlenderforthersttimeandsavefor
futurereference.
• Remove and safely discard any packaging material
andpromotionallabelsbeforeusingtheblenderfor
thersttime.
• To eliminate a choking hazard for young children,
removeandsafelydiscardtheprotectivecovertted
tothepowerplugofthisappliance.
• Donotplacetheblenderneartheedgeofabench
or table during operation. Ensure the surface is
level,cleanandfreeofwaterandothersubstances.
Vibrationduringoperationmaycausetheappliance
tomove.
• Donotusetheblenderonasinkdrainboard.
• Donotplacetheblenderonornearahotgasorelectric
burner,orwhereitcouldtouchaheatedoven.
• Handle the blender and attachments with care
–rememberthebladesarerazor-sharpandshouldbe
keptoutofthereachofchildren.
• Alwaysensuretheblenderiscompletelyassembled
beforeoperating.Theblenderwillnotoperateunless
properlyassembled.
• Do notuse attachments other than those provided
withtheblender.
• Donotattempttooperatetheblenderbyanymethod
otherthanthosedescribedinthisbook.
• Alwayssecurethebladeassemblyontotheblender
jugbeforeattachingtothemotorbase.
• Ensurethespeedselectiondialisintheoff‘0’position
andtheblenderis switchedoffatthepoweroutlet
andthepowercordisunpluggedbeforeattachingthe
blenderjug.
• Alwaysoperatetheblenderwiththeblenderjuglid
inposition.
• Keepngers,hands,knivesandotherutensilsaway
frommovingblades.
• Do notplace hands orngers into the blender jug
unlessthemotorandbladeshavecometoacomplete
stop. Ensure the speed selection dial is in the off
‘0’positionandtheapplianceisswitchedoffatthe
poweroutletandthepowercordisunpluggedbefore
removingthelidfromtheblender.
• Ensure the motor and the blades have completely
stopped before disassembling. Ensure the speed
selectiondialisintheoff‘0’positionandtheappliance
isswitchedoffatthepoweroutletandthepowercord
isunpluggedfromthepoweroutletbeforeattempting
tomovetheblender,whennotinuse,ifleftunattended
andbeforedisassembling,cleaningorstoring.
• Careshouldbetakenwhenremovingthefoodfrom
theblenderjugbyensuringthemotorandtheblades
have completely stopped before disassembling.
Ensurethespeedselectiondialisturnedtotheoff‘0’
position,theapplianceisswitchedoffatthepower
outletand unplugged,before removingthe lidfrom
theblenderjug.Theblenderjugshouldthenbelifted
fromthemotorbaseandthefoodcarefullyremoved
beforeattemptingtoremovethebladeassembly.
• Donotoperatetheblendercontinuouslyforperiods
longerthan30secondsonanysettingorifprocessing
aheavy load. Noneof therecipes inthis book are
consideredaheavyload. Iftheblenderis operated
continuouslyfortoolong,itshouldbeswitchedoff,
unpluggedandallowedtocoolfor30minutesbefore
recommencing.
• Donotprocesshotorboilingliquids–allowliquidsto
coolbeforeplacingintotheblenderjug.
