Coarsefilter
Largeritems, such as pieces ofbone orglass, that could clog the drain are trapped in the
coarse filter. To remove an item caught in this filter, gentlysqueeze thetabs on top of this
filterand lift it out.
For your convenience, we have placed thedrainpump and filtering systemwithin easy reach inside the tub. There are three
components ofthefiltering system: the main filter, the coarse filter, and the fine filter.

Finefilter
This filter holds soil and food residue in the sump area and prevents it from being
redeposited on thedishes during a cycle.

armand washed down the drain.

If your dishwasher is left in an unheated place during the winter, ask a service technician to:
Cut off electrical power to the dishwasher. Remove
fuses or trip circuit breaker.
Turn off the water supply and disconnect the water
inlet pipe from the water valve.
Drain water from the inlet and water valve.pipe
(Use a pan to catch the water.)
Reconnect the water inlet to the
water valve.

tub the bottom and use a sponge to
soak up water in rubber boot.

Itis necessary to clean thespray arms regularly for hard water chemicals will clog the spray arm jets and bearings. To remove the
spray arm, screwoff the nut to take outthe washer on top of thesprayarmandremovethe arm. Wash the arms in soapy and warm
water and use asoftbrushto cleanthe jets. Replace them after rinsing them thoroughly.
Neverrun the dishwasher withoutthe filters inplace.
Filter assembly
For best performance and results,the filterassembly mustbecleaned.
Thefilter efficientlyremoves foodparticlesfrom thewash water, allowingittobe
recirculated during the cycle.For this reason, it is a goodideato remove the larger
food particles trapped inthe filterafter eachwash cycle by rinsing the semicircular
filter and cup underrunning water. Toremove the filter assembly,pullon the cup
handle in the upward direction. The entire filter assemblyshouldbe cleanedat least
once amonth.
To clean the coarsefilterand the fine filter,use a cleaning brush. Then,reassemble
the filter parts as shown in the figures leftand reinsert the entire assembly in the
dishwasher, positioningin its seat and pressing downward.
The dishwasher must never be used without the filters. Improper replacement ofthe
filter may reduce theperformancelevel of the appliance and damage dishes andutensils.
