When the ovencontrolsare set to CLEAN, the oven heatsto temperaturesthat are
higherthanthoseusedforcooking.The hightemperaturescausefoodsoilto burnoff
and substantially disappear. While this occurs,a device in the oven vent helps to

remove after the self-cleaning process since
the high heat wit/bake on any soil that is

• Wipe upexcessgreaseandfoodspilloverswhichhavenotbakedonthebottomof
the oven. Large accumulationsof soilcancause heavysmokeorfire inthe oven
duringthe cleaningprocess.
• Althoughsmokeor fire inthe ovenis a normaloccurrenceand there is nosafety
problem,therewill be ventingof excessivesmokeand odor.
