Steamer Not Heating Up Properly or Not Cooking Properly, “Power” Light is Lit
Steamer not heating properly or not cooking properly,
“Power” light is lit.
Check resistance between heating-cartridge contactor terminals
and replace heating cartridges as necessary (see page 25).
Replace door switch.
Reconnect door switch lead wires.
Door switch OK?
No Yes
Check door switch (see page 29).
Check water-level control sensor (see page 31).
Water-level control
sensor OK?
No
Yes
Replace water-level
control sensor.
DISCONNECT POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER
Is water level at
normal level in cavity?
No Yes
Turn off steamer and check that it drains completely. If steamer
does not drain, check drain path for obstructions. Turn steamer
back on and wait 10 minutes.
High-limit thermostats OK? No
Yes
Replace high-limit
thermostats as necessary.
DISCONNECT POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER Check that water-supply pressure is adequate.
Check high-limit thermostats (see page 30).
Replace water solenoid.
Water solenoid OK?
No Yes
Check water solenoid (see page 32).
Check for loose or broken
wires (see wiring diagram).
If wiring is OK, remove screen
from strainer and clean or
replace as necessary.
Reassemble, reconnect, and
recheck the steamer. If water
still does not enter the
steamer, examine the water
solenoid and inline Y strainer
for obstructions or deposits.
Clean or replace as
necessary.
Check contactor (see page 27).
Replace contactor.
Contactor OK?
No Yes
Check for loose or broken
wires (see wiring diagram).
If wiring is OK, check that
heating cartridges are secure
(tighten to 75 inch-pounds of
