foltow these four steps:

Before calling for assistance.. .
Performance problems often result from
little things you can find and fix yourself with-
out tools of any kind.
If nothing operates:
l
Is the oven correctly wrred to a live circutt
with the proper voltage? [See Installation
Instructions.)
l
Have you checked the main fuse or clrcuit-
breaker box?
If the upper oven will not operate:
l
Is the Upper Oven Selector turned to a set-
ting (BAKE or BROIL, but not TIMED)’
l
Is the Upper Oven Temperature Control
turned to a temperature setting?
If the self-cleaning cycle will not operate:
l
Are the Oven Selector and the Oven Tem-
perature Control set to CLEAN”?
l
Does the Start Time Dial show the correct
trme of day7
l
Is the Stop Time Dial set ahead to the ttme
you want the cleaning cycle to stop?
l
Is the Lock Lever all the way to the right?
(The Clean Light will come on )
If the lower oven will not operate:
l
Is the Lower Oven Selector turned to a set-
ting (BAKE or BROIL, but not TIMED]?
l
Is the Lower Oven Temperature Control
turned to a temperature settrng?
If surface units will not operate:
l
Have you checked the morn fuse or circuit
breaker box?
l
Are surface units plugged In all the way?
l
Do the control knobs turn?
If surface unit knob or knobs will not turn:
l
Did you push in before trying to turn
l
Is the spring replaced as shown on page
127
If soil is visible on continuous-cleaning oven
finish:
The special finish is designed to gradually
reduce oven soil during normal baking
or roasting. It is not designed to keep your
oven spotless...only presentably clean.
If you broil often, you may see oven soil
The door IS tooter than oven walls. Soil will
be more visible on the doorthan other
areas in the oven. See page 16, “Hand
Cleaning.”

See the Cooking Guide for more rnforma-
tion on cookrng problems ana now to
solve them.
Is the oven level7
Are you using pans recommended in the
Cooking Guide?
If baking, have you allowed 1’ z to 2 inches
(4-5 cm) on all sides of the pans for air
crrculation?
Does the oven temperature seem too low or
too high? See page 6, “Adjusting the oven
temperature controls.”
Have you preheated the oven as the rec-
rpe calls for?
Are the pansthe size called for in the
recipe’
Are you followrng a tested recrpe from a
reliable source?
Do the cooking utensils have smooth, flat
bottoms?
