Product Description
StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard is a multi-functional topical sub-floor protection layer formulated with high-quality polymers
that when properly used with StrateStuff Moisture Cure Urethane Adhesive
under BR-111
™
flooring will activate a sub-floor
moisture warranty (See StrateStuff Substrate Moisture Protection Limited Warranty for details.) It can be applied to most
porous sub-floor types using a 3/8” nap paint roller. Under normal indoor conditions (relative humidity between 35%–55%
at a temperature between 60-75 degrees Fahrenheit), it dries and is ready for the floor covering in 12 hours. It is a one-coat
application system.

1. Moisture Protection Warranty
Correct application of the StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard with StrateStuff Moisture Cure Urethane Adhesive
activates the sub-floor moisture warranty. (StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard will not be warranted if used with
another adhesive.) To activate the sub-floor moisture warranty in a floating job, the application instructions must
be strictly adhered to.
2. MICROBAN
®
StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard contains Microban® Antimicrobial protection that remains as part of the dried
surface layer and provides ongoing resistance to mold and mildew growth at the sub-floor level.
3. Protective Surface Layer
StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard, when applied properly, provides a surface layer on the sub-floor that will protect
wood floor coverings. It also provides a layer of protection against future fluctuations in sub-floor moisture
emissions. The amount of moisture vapor emission reduction can vary depending on sub-floor conditions.
4. Reduce Alkali Concentrations
StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard reduces the potential of alkali migrating to the surface of concrete. High
concentrations of alkali can destroy adhesives and floor coverings.
5. Ease of Application
Easy to apply (with a 3/8” nap paint roller) and completely dries within 12 hours.
6. Suitable Sub-floor Types
StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard is suitable for sub-floors such as concrete, plywood, OSB, and sanded terrazzo.
7. Quality Polymers
StrateStuff Substrate Safeguard is formulated with high-quality polymers that are compatible with StrateStuff
Moisture Cure Urethane Adhesive. It serves as an excellent sub-floor primer.
