SAFETAXI CYCLE NUMBER AND REVISION
SafeTaxi database is revised every 56 days. SafeTaxi is always available for use
after the expiration date. When turning on the GPSMAP 695/696, the Power-up
Page indicates whether the databases are current, out of date, or not available. The
Power-up Page shows the SafeTaxi database is current when the SafeTaxi Expires date
is shown in white. When the SafeTaxi cycle has expired, the SafeTaxi Expires date
appears in yellow.
The SafeTaxi Region, Version, Cycle, Effective date and Expiration date of the database
cycle can also be found in the Main Menu, under ‘Database Information’.
The SafeTaxi database is provided by Garmin. Refer to Appendix C for instructions
on updating the SafeTaxi database.
5.2 FLITECHARTS
FliteCharts resemble the paper version of National Aeronautical Charting Office
(NACO) terminal procedures charts. The charts are displayed with high-resolution
and in color for applicable charts. FliteCharts database subscription is available from
Garmin. Available data includes:
•Arrivals(STAR)
•DepartureProcedures(DP)
•Approaches
•AirportDiagrams
•TakeoffMinimums
•AlternateMinimums
Displaying FliteCharts:
1)
With the Waypoint (WPT) Page displayed, press the CHART Softkey.
2)
Press the FMS Joystick to activate the cursor.
3)
Turn the FMS Joystick to begin entering the desired airport into the Airport
Identifier Field.

Move the FMS Joystick to highlight the Chart Field.
b)
Turn the FMS Joystick to access a drop-down menu of available charts.
c)
Turn or move the FMS Joystick to select the desired chart, and press
the ENT Key.
