Broiler Clean-Up Tips:
To make cleaning easier, line the bottom of the broiler pan with aluminum foil. DO NOT cover
the broiler grid with foil.
To prevent grease from baking on, remove the broiler pan from the oven as soon as cooking
is completed. Use hot pads because the broiler pan is extremely hot. Pour off grease. Soak
the pan in HOT, soapy water.
Clean the broiler pan as soon as possible after each use. If necessary, use soap-filled steel
wool pads. Heavy scouring may scratch the grid.

WARNING
Should an oven fire occur, leave the oven door closed and turn off the oven. If the fire
continues, throw baking soda on the fire or use a fire extinguisher. DO NOT put water
or flour on the fire. Flour may be explosive and water can cause a grease fire to
spread and cause personal injury.
Setting the oven controls
To set the oven to broil
1. Place broiler pan insert on the broiler pan. Then place the food on the broiler pan
insert. DO NOT use the broiler pan without the insert. DO NOT cover the broiler insert
with foil. The exposed grease could ignite.
2. Arrange the interior oven rack and place the broiler pan on the rack. Be sure to center
the broiler pan directly under the broiler element. If preheating the broil element,
position the broiler pan with food after step 5.
3. Turn Selector knob to Broil position.
4. The corresponding indicator light will flash.
5. Turn Temperature knob to Broil. The indicator light will remain on until the Selector or
Temperature knob is turned to the Off position.
When broiling, heat radiates downward from the oven broiler for even
coverage.
The broil pan and broil pan insert used together allow dripping grease to drain
and be kept away from the high heat of the oven broiler. DO NOT use the
broil pan without the insert. DO NOT cover the broil pan insert with foil.
The exposed grease could ignite.
