Before You Call for Service
CheckthefoUowing listto be sure a service callisreally necessary, Aquick reference ofthis guide may preventan unneeded
service call.
If the oven fails to operate:
Check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.
Check if oven is properly connected to electric outlet.
* Check instructions for suggested placement of pans on oven rack.
(See "Cooking Made Simple" booklet.)
If oven door will not unlock:
If clock, indicator words, and/or lights operate but oven does not t Oven may not have cooled to safe temperature after self-cleanin_
heat: process.
$ The controls may have been set incorrectly.
Clock controls may be set for a delayed bake function.
The Oven Control Lockout may have been set (Pg. 5).
If the oven light and/or clock does not function:
$ The light bulb is loose or defective,
Check power supply, circuit breaker or fuse.
The oven light does not work during self-cleaning process.
There is a strong odor or light smoke when oven is turned on:
This is normal for a new wall oven and will disappear after a few
uses. Initiating a clean cycle will "burn off' the smells more quickly.
Turning on a ventilation fan wilt help remove the smoke and/or
odor.
Excessive food soils on the oven bottom. Use a self-clean cycle.
If oven will not activate the _lf-cleaning process:
$ Controls may be improperly set.
$ Check the "Clean" and "Stop" time settings and the current time
of day on the clock.
If oven did not dean properly:
$ Oven may need longer cteaning time.
Excessive spills were not removed prior to self-cleaning
process.
If foods do not broil properly:
The control may not be set properly.
Check rack position (Pg, 7).
Voltage into house may be low.
If baked food is burned or too brown on top:
Food may be positioned incorrectly in oven. (See "Cooking Made
Simple" booklet.)
Oven not preheated properly.
If foods bake unevenly:
The oven may be installed improperly.
i, Check the oven rack with a level.
Stagger pans, do not allow pans to touch each other or oven wall.
If oven baking results are less than expected:
I, The pans being used may not be of the size or material recom
mended for best results. (See "Cooking Made Simple" booklet).
$ Theremay not be sufficient room aroundsides of the pans for propel
air circulation in the oven.
Check instructions for preheating, rack position and oven tempera
ture.
If baking results differ from previous oven:
$ Oven thermostat calibration may differ between old and new ov
ens. Follow recipe and use the directions in this guide before call
ing for service since the calibration on the previous oven may havq
drifted to a too high or too low setting. (See Pg. 5- Adjusting Ovel
Temperature.)
If the cooling fan continues to operate after the oven has bee_
turned off:
* This is normal and the fan will automatically shut off when th
oven is cooled.
If a fan is heard while using the broil or clean modes:
$ This is the cooling fan and is normal. The fan will continue to ru
after use until the oven cools.
Fault Codes
Fault codes are shown in the display as "F' and a number. If a fau
code appears in the display and beeps sound, press the Cancel pa_
If the fault code and beeps continue alter pressing Cancel, discol
nect power to the oven. Wait a few minutes, then reconnect pow_
to the oven. If the fault code and beeps still continue, disconne,
power to the wall oven and call an authorized servicer.
if the oven is heavily soiled, excessive flare-ups may result in
fault code during a clean cycle. Press Cancel pad and allow tt
oven to cool for one hour, then reset the clean cycle. If the fa_
code and beeps still continue, disconnect power to the applian_
and call an authorized servicer.
I, If an error beep sounds (two short beeps) with no fault code in tl
display, clean any spi!l from key pad area within 30 seconds. !
after 30 seconds the spill is not removed or another problem exisl
an F7 fault code will be displayed. Disconnect power to the app
ance and call an authorized servicer.
