Removethebroilerpan, broiler
rack, allcookwareandany
aluminumfoilfromtheoven.
(Ovenshelvesmaybe leftinoven.
Note:Shelveswilldiscolorafier
theself-cleancycle.)
step 2:
Removetheovenbottompanel(see
page18)if it is excessivelysoiled.
Cleanitand putitback in theoven.
Toomuchsoilonovenbottommay
causesmokingduringthecleaning
cycle.The bottommustbe inplace
duringthe self-cleancycle.
Step 3:
Cleanspattersor soilon theoven
frontframe(A), underthefront
edgeofthe cooktop,thedoor liner
outsidethedoor gasketandthe
frontedgeof theovencavity(about
1“intotheoven).Usedetergent
andhotwaterwitha soap-filled
steelwoolpad, thenrinse wellwith
a vinegarand watermixture.This
willhelppreventa brownresidue
fromformingwhentheovenis
heated.Bufftheseareas witha
dry cloth.
Do notlet waterrun downthrough
openingsin thetopof thedoor (B).
Cleanthedoorgasket(C) usinga
cleansponge[osoakthesoiledarea
withhydrogenperoxicic.Repeated
soakingmaybe neededdepending
on theamountofsoil. Frequent
cleaningwillpreventexcessivesoil
buildup. Do notrubthedoor
gasket–the fiberglassmaterialof
thegaskethasan extremelylow
resistanceto abrasion.An intact
andwell-fittingovendoorgasketis
essentialforenergy-efficientoven
operationandgoodbakingresults.
Ifyounoticethegasketbecoming
worn,frayedor damagedinany
wayor if ithasbecomedisplaced
onthedoor,youshouldreplaceit.
Makesuretheovenlightbulbcover

self-cleaning oven. However,they
will darken, lose their luster and
becoinc hard to slide. Wipe the
shelf supports with cooking oil
after self-cleaning to make shelves
slide more easily.
Do notusecommercialoven
cleanersor ovenprotectorsin
or nearthe self-cleaningoven.
Acombinationofanyofthese
productsplusthehighclean-cycle
temperaturemaydamagethe
porcelainfinishoftheoven.
Important
Theovendoormustbeclosed
andall controlsmustbe set
correctlyforthecleancycleto
workproperly.Tohelpyou
understandhowthecleancycle
works,thestagesofthecycle
are notedbelow.

are displayed.TurnSET knob
until3:30 appears.Theoven
beginstoheat, thedoor locks
automaticallyandthe word
“LOCK” isdisplayed.
If theovendooris notclosed,
the word“DOOR” isdisplayed
andtheovenbeepscontinuously.
Closethedoor,touchCANCEL
and beginagain.
3. Whenthe3
Y2hourclean
cycleisover,theword
“CLEAN” goesout andthe
ovenbeginstocool.
4. Whentheoventemperature
has fallenbelowthe locking
temperature(about20-30
minutesafterthe word
“CLEAN” goesoutat theend
ofthe cleancycle),theword
“LOCK” goesoutand the
doorcan be opened.
