GE JVM140 Microwave Oven User Manual

Auto Defrost
With the Auto Defrost feature,
the oven automatically sets the
defrosting times and power levels
for you.
Use the Auto Defrost guide on the
following page. Enter the food
weight in pounds and tenths of a
pound (see Conversion Guide at
right). Then touch the START pad.
The oven calculates defrosting time
and changes power levels during
defrosting to give even defrosting
results.
How to Set Auto Defrost
Before you begin, check the guide
located at the front of the oven,
visible when you open the door.
It
shows minimum and maximum
food weights for a variety of foods.
You will need to know your food’s
weight before setting Auto Defrost.
1.
Remove food from package,
place in oven on microwave-safe
dish and close door.

When using the Auto Defrost
feature, it is necessary to allow
the food to stand in order to finish
defrosting the interior. You may take
the food out of the oven if you wish.
Stand time recommendations are
given in the guide on the next page.
