Roasting is cooking by dry heat Tender meat or poul-
try can be roasted uncovered in your oven° Roasting
temperatures, which should be !ow and steady, keep
spattering to a minimum.. When roasting, it is not nec-
essary to sear, baste or add water to your meat.
The oven has a special
low shelf support (R) just
above the oven bottom..
Use it when extra cooking
space is needed; for
example, when roasting a
large turkey.
Roasting is easy, just fol-
low these steps:
Step 1: Position oven shelf
on shelf support B for small
roasts (3 to 5 pounds) and
on shelf support A for larg-
er roasts
Step 2: Check weight of
roast Place meat fat-
side-up or poultry breast-
side-up on roasting rack in a shallow pan The melting
fat wilt baste the meat Select a pan as close to the
size of the meat as possible (Broiler pan with rack is
a good pan for this.)
Step 3: Touch BAKE pad,. " "
appears in display and "BAKE" flashes.
Step 4: Touch DECREASE pad. "350°F ''
appears in the display.
Step 5: Press & hold or tap INCREASE or DE_
CREASE pad until desired temperature is displayed.
(Tap to change temperature 5 degrees a tap. Press &
hold to change temperature 25 degrees at a time)
The word "ON" and the changing oven temperature
will be displayed as the oven heats up. When the
oven reaches the set temperature, a tone will sound_
To change oven temperature during BAKE cycle,
touch BAKE pad and then INCREASE or DECREASE
pad to get new temperature
Step 6: Touch CLEAR/OFF when baking
is finished and then remove food from
oven
