Unit Using Excessive Amount of Water and/or Excessive Steam Coming from
Vent Tube
Unit using excessive amount of water and/or excessive steam
coming from vent tube behind the unit.
DISCONNECT POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER
NoYes
Excessive steam?
Remove control panel, but leave plug connected.
Disconnect wire between float switch and controller (see applicable
wiring diagram), reconnect power, turn unit on, and wait 12 minutes.
DISCONNECT POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER
Excessive steam?
Yes No
Wait 12 minutes.
Reconnect power.
DISCONNECT POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER
Reinstall control panel,
reconnect power.
Check contactor and replace
as necessary (see Figure 13
on page 24).
Check float switch and float tube. Replace float switch and
clean float tube as necessary (see Figure 18 on page 29).
Check controller (see Figure 22 on page 33). Replace as
necessary. (On EZ-3 units built before Jan. 15, 2001, also
check Time Delay Relay, see Figure 21 on page 32.)

“Check Water Level” Light Does Not Come On When Unit Runs Out of Water
Replace light. Check high limits (see Figure 20 on page 31)
and replace as needed.
Remove wire C53 from “CHECK WATER LEVEL” light and check
resistance across light terminals.
Is resistance over
100 Kohm?

“CHECK WATER LEVEL” light does not come on when unit
runs out of water.
