Plaited sweet loaf
1.Followsteps1-5,from‘SultanaLoaf’
recipe.
2.Punchdown,foldsidestocentreandturn
thedoughover.Kneadonalightlyfloured
surfacewithwellflouredhands,untilthe
doughissmooth,softandelastic.Cut
doughinhalfandrolloutonehalfona
flouredsurfaceandshapeintoa60cmx
30cmrectangle,about2cmthick.
3.Cutinto3equallengths,bringeach
togetheratthetop,pinchtogetherto
secureandthenplaitthe3lengths,
crossingoneoverandundertheother,
bringlengthstogetherbypressingatthe
end.
4.Placeontoabakingtraylinedwithbaking
paperandbakeat200°Cfor40-45
minutes.Oncecookedbrushedwithglaze.
Repeatwiththeotherhalf.

toformadecorativebun.Brushwithegg
white.Allowtorise,about15-20minutes.
5.Bakefor40-45minutesinahotovenat
200°C.Oncebakedbrushwithglaze.
