Wholemeal Loaf

2tablespoonssugar
2cupslukewarmwater
30gbutter,melted
2cupsplainflour

cupswholemealflour
1teaspoonsalt
1.Combinetheyeast,sugar,waterand
butterinasmallbowlandallowtostand
inawarmplaceuntilmixturebeginsto
froth.About10minutes.
2.InsertthedoughhooksintotheMixer
Head(refertopage6).Placesifteddry
ingredientsintothemixingbowl.
3.Using‘LO’speed1,graduallyaddyeast
mixture.Note,itwillbenecessaryto
scrapethesidesofthebowlwitharubber
spatula.Kneadfor3-5minutes.
4.Continuethekneadingprocessuntilall
ingredientsarecombinedandthedough
formsaball.Thedoughwillbesoftand
sticky.
5.Placedoughinagreasedbowl,turning
oncetogreasetop.Coverwithplastic
wrap,andletriseinawarmplaceuntil
doubledinsize(40-50minutes).
6.Punchdown,foldsidestocentreandturn
thedoughover.Kneadonalightlyfloured
surface.Cutdoughinhalf.Shapeintoloaf
pans.Coverwithplasticwrapandallow
toriseinawarmplaceuntildoubledin
size(about30minutes).Preheatovento
200°C.
7.Bakeforapproximately30minutes.Baked
loavessoundhollowwhentappedwiththe
knuckles.
