Before using your dishwasher forthe first time:
The watersoftener mustbe set manually, usingthe waterhardness dial.
The watersoftener is designed to remove minerals and salts from the water, which would have
adetrimental or adverse effect on the operation of the appliance. The higherthe
content ofthese mineralsand salts, the harder your water is. The softener should be
adjusted according tothe hardness ofthe waterin your area. Your local Water Authority
can adviseyou on the hardness of the water in your area.
Adjusting Salt Consumption
Thedishwasher is designed to allow for adjustment in the amountof salt consumed basedon the hardness of
the water used. This is intended to optimise and customise thelevel o fsalt consumption.
1. Unscrew the capfrom thesaltcontainer.
2. There is a ring on thecontainer with an arrow onit (see figure
ontheside), if necessary, rotate the ring intheanticlockwise
direction from the "-"Settingtoward the "+" sign, based on the
hardness of the water being used.
It is recommended that adjustments should be made in
accordance with the following scheme:
WATER SOFTENER
The hardness of the water varies from place to place. If hard water is used in the dishwasher, deposits will
form on the dishes and utensils.
The applianceisequipped with a special softenerthatuses a salt container specifically designed to eliminate
lime and minerals from the water.
Contact your local water board for information on the hardness of your water supply.
