3. Rotate blade tensioning knob counterclock-
wise (looking down from above) to release
blade tension, pull blade off wheels, then
remove it from machine.
4. Install replacement blade on wheels and
make sure of the following conditions (refer
to Figures 7–8 for identification):
Blade teeth face down through table.
Blade is within
1
64" of wheel back lip on
both wheels.
Blade is properly positioned between blade
guide and against blade wipers.
5. Close and secure wheel cover.
6. Properly tension blade, as instructed in next
subsection.
Blade Tensioning
A properly tensioned blade will maximize blade
life and produce safe, clean cuts.
To tension the saw blade:
1. DISCONNECT SAW FROM POWER!
2. Make sure blade is properly installed, as
instructed in the previous subsection.
3. Rotate blade tensioning knob to tension blade
until there is approximately
1
4" deflection
when moderate pressure is pushed against
middle of blade, as shown in Figure 9.
Note: Rotate tensioning knob clockwise
(looking down from above) to increase blade
tension and counterclockwise to decrease
blade tension.
To prevent blade falling off wheels and
causing injury or property damage, DO NOT
rotate blade tensioning knob when saw is
operating. Always disconnect saw from
power before adjusting blade tension.
