How To Brew Espresso
First unwind the electrical cord from the bottom of your machine.
Filling the Water Tank...
Turn the selector control knob to the OFF position.
Fill the glass carafe with cold water to the designated marking for the desired number of
servings of espresso. Never use warm or hot water to fill the water tank. Note: If you
are making cappuccino, refer to page

for the proper water measurements.

For 2 servings, fill with water up to the 2 cup marking indicated on the carafe.

For 4 servings, fill with water up to the 4 cup marking indicated on the carafe.
Remove the water tank boiler cap and pour the water into the water tank. Do not fill
to the top of the tank or there will not be enough area to generate steam.
CAUTION:
Do not pour water into the tank while the machine is on. Check to make sure
the selector control knob is OFF. Do not pour more than
10
ounces of water into the
tank.
Screw the boiler cap back on top of the water tank.
Make sure it is on tight.
Preparing the Coffee...
Remove the filter holder by turning the filter handle
l/4
turn
to the left. The filter holder will now release.
Place the filter basket in the filter holder.
See figure 1.
Fill with fresh, fine ground espresso coffee to the 2 or 4 cup
mark in the filter basket. Do not fill above the 4 cup marking.
Clean any excess coffee from the rim of the filter holder. This
will assure proper fit

brew head.
ATTENTION:
a.
Do not pack coffee.
b. Do not overfill the filter basket.
This might cause clogging or overflow.
Place the filter retainer dip in the release position, by laying
the
clip
back toward your hand. Place the filter
holder
under-
neath the brew head so that the handle is positioned in
the
center. Lift the filter holder up and insert into the brew head.
Rotate handle completely to the
right
until it stops.
Make sure the filter holder is secure. See
figure 2.
