INSTALLATIONINSTALLATION
Use an approved
gas pipe sealant at
allexternalthreaded
connections, gas
piping used on gas
connections must
avoid sharp bends
that may restrict the
owofgastothe
appliance. If the
connected pressure
exceeds14.0"W.C.(3.5kPa)forpropaneand11.0"W.C.
(2.74kPA)fornaturalgas,astep-downregulatoris
required to be supplied by the owner/operator.
Close the individual manual shut-off valve to isolate
the fryer from the gas supply piping system during any
pressure testing at test pressures equal to or less than 1/2
psig.(3.4kPa).Thefryerandindividualshut-offvalve
must be disconnected from the gas supply piping system
duringanypressuretestingatpressuresinexcessof1/2
psig.(3,4kPa).
In the U.S.A., installation must conform to local codes
or, in the absence of local codes, with the current edition
of the National Fuel Gas Code,NFPA-54andANSI
Z83.11aCSA1.8a2004(orlatestedition).InCanada,
installation must be in accordance with local codes,
CAN/CGA-B149.1,Installation for Natural Gas Burning
Appliances and Equipment (latest edition) or CAN/CGA-
B149.2Installation for Propane Burning Appliances and
Equipment (latest edition).
The inlet supply line must be properly sized to
accommodate all individual appliances simultaneously
used on the same line but must never be smaller than
3/4" I.D.
LEAK TESTING
Installation requires gas leak testing on all gas piping and
ttings.Useanapprovedelectronicleakdeviceorasoap
and water solution at all gas connections. If bubbling
appears when using a soap and water solution, the
connectionmustberetted.Neveruseanopenameto
leak test.
