THE BROIL FUNCTION
Refer to the illustrations on pages 2-10 and
2-11 while you read this description.
When the unit is plugged in and line voltage is
applied to the electronic oven control, the
following keyboard actions are used to set the
BROIL function:
• The clock is set to the time-of-day.
• The CUSTOM BROIL keypad is se-
lected.
When the preceding events occur, the BROIL
relay energizes, and its contacts close. This
provides an electrical circuit through the BROIL
ignitor and the BROIL valve to the neutral side
of the line*.
As electrical current flows through the BROIL
ignitor, it heats up. When the BROIL valve
opens, gas flows through the burner, and the
hot ignitor ignites the gas and air mixture, and
a flame is produced.
