• Makesure bottomsofcookpots are alwayscleanand dry. (Soilfrom thecookpot
bottomcan be transferredto thecooktopsurface.) Beforeusingcookpotson the
glass-ceramiccooktop for the first time, and periodically as needed, clean the
bottoms with scouring pads or other cleansers. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Makeit a practicetowipe cooktopsurfacewith a cleandamp clothor papertowel
beforeeachuse; drythorough}y.Invisiblespatters,dustspecks,cleansersorwater
can cause stainsthat appear after unit is heated. A spongeor dishclothwhich is
notcleanwillleavefilm and soilladen detergentwaterwhich may causestainson
surface after area is heated,
• When frying, usea spatter shieldto reducespattering.
• Usecorrectcontrol settingsand cookwarelarge enoughto holdfood and liquid to
preventboilovers and splattering.
• If abadspilloveroccurswhilecooking,spillsmaybecleanedfromthecooktopwhile
it is hotto prevent a tough cleaningchorelater. Using extremecare, wipewith a
clean towel. Be careful to avoid bums from steam or hands touching the hot
cooktop.
