BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE (CONT.)
Possible Causes
The ice storage bin is empty.
The household water-line
valve is not open.
The refrigerator or freezer
door is not closed.
Ice has melted and frozen
around the auger due to
infrequent use, temperature
fluctuations, and/or power
outages.
Ice cubes are jammed
between the icemaker arm
and the back of the bin.
Ice cubes are frozen together.
Ice cubes that have been
purchased or made in some
other way have been used in
the dispenser.
A batch of ice has been
released into the ice bin.
The icemaker is being
supplied with water.
Problem
The dispenser will
not dispense ice.
Sound of ice
dropping.
Sound of water
trickling.
Other
Solutions
When the first supply of ice is dropped into the bin,
the dispenser should operate.
Open the household water line valve and allow
sufficient time for ice to be made. When ice is
made, the dispenser should operate.
Be sure both of the doors are closed.
Remove the ice storage bin and thaw the contents.
Clean the bin, wipe it dry, and replace it in its
proper position. When new ice is made, the
dispenser should operate.
Remove the ice cubes that are jamming the dispenser.
Use the dispenser often to prevent the cubes from
freezing together.
Only the ice cubes made by the icemaker should
be used with the dispenser.
This sound is made when automatically made ice is
dropped into the ice storage bin. The volume may
vary according to the location of the refrigerator.
This sound is normally made when the icemaker is
supplied with water after dropping the automatically
made ice.
