Use one of the following procedures to configure the StorNext FS software on your client machine.
A simple StorNext FS configuration assumes the following:
• A single regular stripe group.
• The StorNext FS server is directly connected to the Fibre Channel storage area network,
although it can support other types of connections. For more information, see “Shared
Setup” in the StorNext Management Suite System Administrator Guide.
Use the following procedure to configure a simple file system to be managed by StorNext FS.
Step 1 Create a list of managed file systems (fsmlist file) by clicking Start and selecting
Programs > StorNext File System > Simple Configuration >
StorNext File System > Help.
For detailed information, click Start and select Programs > StorNext File System >
Help. Then select Simple Configuration Tool from the browser window.
Step 2 Close the Simple Configuration Tool by clicking File and Exit.
Step 3 Continue to Step 9 on page 4-6.

NOTE
You can create a simple StorNext FS configuration during the initial software
installation that allows you to test the product. You can change to a custom
configuration at any time, however, by following the instructions for Custom
Configuration on page 4-5.
