Earthing requirements for group 1 connections only
In general, the earthing arrangements are different for large and small installations. (A small installation may
possibly consist of just one instrument.)
• If the 7951 is part of a large installation with separate earths for chassis and
instrumentation:
In this case you may (depending on the overall system requirements) earth the
7951 chassis and instrumentation separately by cutting the link on the
connector board.
• If the 7951 is on its own or in a small installation with one common earth for
chassis and instrumentation:
In this case you must leave the link intact so that the chassis and
instrumentation are earthed to the same point.
