Miele CVA 6431 (C) Coffeemaker User Manual

Problem Possible cause and remedy
Milk (steam) and
espresso / coffee
cannot be prepared
at the same time.
The energy-saving Eco mode is activated. In this mode, the
steam system is heated up for preparing hot milk or milk
froth. After preparation the steam system will cool down
again.
If you want to prepare milk without having to wait until the
steam system has heated up,
^
switch off "Eco mode" in the "Settings" menu.
If Eco mode is deactivated, the steam system will remain
heated and you can prepare drinks made with milk without
the need for heating up beforehand. However, with Eco
mode deactivated, the coffee machine will use
considerably more energy.
Eco mode is
switched on.
However, milk
(steam) and
espresso / coffee
can still be
prepared at the
same time.
If the steam system is still heated up, milk (steam) and
espresso / coffee can be prepared at the same time.
When the steam system has cooled down, milk (steam) and
espresso / coffee can only be prepared one after the other
(not at the same time).
The steam valve
has been pushed
downwards and has
engaged with the
cappuccinatore, but
no steam is coming
out. Milk is not
being heated or
frothed.
If the steam valve was open, it will be a while before steam
is produced. The steam system needs to heat up again. No
instructions appear in the display.

The steam valve is not properly engaged with the
cappuccinatore.
^
Push the steam valve upwards then back down again so
that it clicks into place.
