j 6. If your machine is equipped with an auxiliary
refrigeration system, check the auxiliary
condenser for accumulati on of dirt and lint. A
dirty condenser will reduce the refrigeration
capacity of the mix hopper. Condensers must
be cleaned monthly with a soft brush. Never
use screwdrivers or other metal probes to clean
between the fins. Failure to comply may result
in elec trocution.
j 7. If your machine is water cooled, check the wa-
ter lines for kinks orleaks.Kinks canoccurwhen
the machine is moved back and forth for clean-
ing or maintenance purpos es. Deteriorate d or
cracked water lines should be replaced only by
an authorized Taylor mechanic.
Winter Storage
If the place ofbusiness is to be closedduringthewinter
months, it is important to protect the freezer by
following certain precautions, particularly if the
building is subject to freezing c onditions.
Disconnect the freezer from the main power source to
prevent possible electrical dam age.
On water cooled fr eezers, disconnect the water
supply. Relieve pressure on the spring in the water
valve. Use a ir pressure on the out let side t o b low out
any water remaining in the condenser , and then add a
liberal amount of permanent type auto anti- freeze.
This is extremely important. Fa ilure to follow this
proceduremay causesevere andcostlydamage tothe
refrigeration system.

Wrap detachable parts of the freezer such as the
beater assembly and freezer door, and place them in
a protected dry p lace. R ubber t rim par ts and gaskets
can be protected by wrapping them with
moisture-proof paper . All parts should be thoroughly
cleaned of dried mix or lubrication accumulations
which a ttract mice and other vermin.
