2 Safety
2.4.1 Operating staff
Any persons operating and working with the dispensing station must be sufficiently
trained for the activities involved. The contents of the Operating and Service Manual
must have been read and understood.
2.4.2 Servicing staff
Any persons charged with maintenance and repair of the dispensing station must be
qualified and
– Must be sufficiently trained for the activities involved
– Must be aware of and comply with the pertinent technical rules and safety
regulations
– Must have read and understood the contents of the Operating and Service
Manual.
A person is qualified if he/she has an educational background and experience
providing adequate knowledge in the fields of hydraulics, pneumatics, materials
handling and electrical engineering, and is sufficiently familiar with the pertinent
occupational health and safety and accident prevention procedures, the regulations
and generally accepted engineering standards (DIN standards) to be capable of
assessing if the dispensing station is in a safe operating condition.
2.5 Organisational Measures
The provider/operator of the equipment is responsible for providing staff with the
required personal protective equipment. All existing safety systems must be checked
at regular intervals. Wear safety goggles and protective suit during operation and
cleanup to protect against any chemical splashes.
