Oven Temperature Adjustment
Thetemperatureselectedonthethemostatdial
determinestheaverageofthemaximumandminimum
temperaturesreachedduringthecyclingoftheoven
burner.Thethermostatcontrolinyournewovenhas
beencarefu~ydesignedandmanufacturedtoprovide
accuratetemperatures.Hyournewovenis replacing
oneyou haveusedfor severalyears,you maynotice
a differenceinthedegreeofbrowningor thelengthof
timerequiredwhenusingyourfavoriterecipes.This
is becauseoventemperaturecontrolshavea tendency
to “drift” overa periodofyears.
Beforeattemptingto havethetemperatureof your
new ovenchanged,be sureyouhavecarefully
followedthebakingtimeandtemperature
recommendedby therecipe.Then,afteryouhaveused
theovena fewtimesandyoufeeltheovenis toohotor
toocool,thereis a simpleadjustmentyoucanmake
yourselfontheOVENCO~OL knob.
Pulltheknobofftherangeandlookat thebackside. -
Tomakeadjustment,loosen(approximatelyoneturn),
butdo notcompletelyremove,thetwo screwson the
backof theknob.Withthebackof theknobfacing
you,holdtie outeredgeof theknobwithonehand
andturnthefrontof theknobwiththeotherhand.
Toraisetheoventemperature,movetie topscrew
towardtheright.You’llheara clickforeach notch
youmovetheknob.Tolowerthetemperature,move
thetop screwtowardtheleft.Eachclickwillchange
theoventemperatureapproximately10”F.(Rangeis
plusor minus60°F.fromthe arrow.)
Wesuggestthatyoumakethe adjustmentoneclick
fromtheoriginalsettingandcheckovenperformance
beforemakinganyadditionaladjustments.
Afterthe adjustmentismade,retightenscrewssothey
are snug,butbe carefulnotto overtighten.Reinstall
knobon rangeandcheckperformance.
