Liftoff whencool.Washburnercapsin Theburnerbase(thepartof’theburner
hot,soapywaterandrinsewithclean fastenedto thecooktop)maybe
water.If desired,soakupto 30 minutes
cleanedwitha softbrushanda mild
andscourwitha plasticscouringpad toremove cleanser.Cleanallfoodresiduesfrom
burned-onfoodparticles.Dry themin a warmovenor
aroundsparkelectrode.Donotusesteelwool;small
witha cloth-don’t reassemblethemwet. bitsof steelwoolwillshortouttheelectrode.Rinse
well.

Youshouldcleantheburnerheadsroutinely,especially
afterbad spi~overs,whichcouldclogtheseholes.
Wipeoff burnerheads.If heavyspilloveroccurs,
removeburnerheadsfromrange.
Removetheburnergrateand burnercap.Thenliftthe
burnerheadsfiaightup.
Toremoveburned-onfood,soaktheburnerhead
upside-downin a solutionof mildliquiddetergentand
hot water.Soakthe burnerheadfor 20to 30minutes.
If the fooddoesn’trinseoffcompletely,scrubit with
soapandwateranda softbrushorplasticscoutingpad.
Formorestubbornstains,use a cleanserlikeSoft
ScrubQbrandorBonAmiQbrand.Wnsewellto
removeanytracesof thecleanserthatmightclogthe
burneropenings.Do notusesteelwoolbecauseit will
clogtheburneropeningsandscratchtheburners.If
theholesbecomeclogged,cleanthemwitha toothpick.
Beforeputtingtheburnerheadback,shakeoutexcess
wateranddryit thoroughlyby settingit in a warm
ovenfor30 minutes.Thenplaceitbackin therange,
makingsurethepin in theburnerbasegoesin the
holein theburnerhead,andthattheburnerheadsare
properlyseatedandlevel.

Washtheminhot, soapywaterandrinsewithclean
water.Aftercleaning,drythemthoroughlybyputting
themin a warmovenfora few minutes.Don’tput the
gratesbackon therangewhiletheyarewet.When
replacingthegrates,be surethey’repositioned
securelyovertheburners.
Togetrid of burned-onfood,placethegratesin a
coveredcontainer(orplasticbag)with 1/4cup
ammoniato loosenthesoil.Thenscrubwitha
soap-filledscouringpadif necessary.
Althoughthey’redurable,the grateswillgradually
losetheirshine,regardlessof thebestcareyoucan
givethem.Thisis dueto theircontinualexposureto _-
hightemperatures.
Do notoperatea burnerfor an extendedperiodof -
timewithoutcookwmeon thegrate.Thefinishon the
gratemaychipwithoutcookwareto absorbtheheat.
