BARISTA TRAINING
Always buy fresh roasted coffee, ideally in the form of
beans that you can grind as required. Your coffee
will taste better if you use freshly ground beans.
Transfer your beans into an airtight glass or ceramic
container with a rubber seal as soon as you get them
home. A dark container that protects the beans from
daylight is ideal. They need to be protected from air,
light, heat and moisture.
Whole beans will keep for fourteen days in an air-tight
container or 45 days in the freezer (but you should
only take them out of the freezer once – the moment
you open the bag and let air get to the coffee, you
have compromised the seal and the flavour will start to
deteriorate). Divide a big bag of beans into several
smaller containers before freezing.
Ground coffee only has a three day shelf-life, so grind
only what you need each time. If you like your coffee
first thing in the morning, grind your beans the night
before and leave them in a sealed container.
STORING YOUR COFFEE
ESE (Easy Serving Espresso) is a simple system to prepare
an espresso with individual coffee pods – no measuring,
no mess, just great coffee.
The pods comprise a pre-measured dose of roasted,
ground and compressed coffee sealed between two
sheets of specially designed ESE filter paper.
One pod makes one espresso.
Pods don't need to be stored in the fridge or freezer.
ESE pods come in different
sizes to fit different types of
coffee machine. You will
need a ESE size 44 pod
to fit your Dualit coffee
machine.
Look out for the ESE logo
on compatable coffee pods.
